Wiki Etiquette
When using a Wiki, it is very important to maintain a certain etiquette for not just yours, but everyone's sake. In the article below, the author summed up the best etiquette to remember in ten concise points. These points include: keeping safe, being truthful, asking and then issuing credit, being nice, proofreading, using accurate info, being brief, following directions, not deleting work of others, and keeping on topic. Following these tips will ensure that you aren't offending someone or making it difficult for your work to be read or taken seriously. When writing anything containing factual information online, it is so important to check and double-check your facts and make sure that you are getting your information from very credible sources. Making sure your blog and wiki are easy to read, with no spelling or grammar mistakes is important as well.
Just by keeping those tips in mind, people are more likely to read and follow your blog and manage the wiki much easier. Keeping your information together, concise, correct, and friendly to the eyes is the way to go. Your business or project will run much smoother when everyone can all follow these rules. If even one person violates these important rules, it could throw off the entire wiki. It is important to make sure all your partners are aware of these rules.

Wiki
IBM is just one of the many corporations that use social media and wikis for easier collaboration. According to the article linked below, IBM has over 17,000 internal blogs, where people just create their blog without any type of formality. These blogs can be read and added to from anywhere you have internet access. IBM also uses an internal wiki that receives well over one million page views a day! IBM seems to be on par with technology, which makes sense due to them being the company that they are, thus knowing exactly what to do to make themselves more efficient. By using internal blogs and wikis, IBM is easily able to keep up with everything happening within their giant corporation and can easily change anything needed while sharing with the whole company.
When all the partners of a project or business are able to see the latest information at the same time, there is much less chance of someone's ideas getting unseen, important information getting lost, or data getting misplaced. Everyone can collaborate without worry that they don't have the latest information or that someone isn't aware of what's going on. Information can easily be edited and time doesn't have to be wasted by sending it to every single person involved. IBM knows all of this and makes extremely great use out of the current wiki collaboration system.

Introduction
My name is Kristen and I'm a student in the GBU 310-500 online class at SFASU. I am a business major who will hopefully graduate in 2013. I co-own and work at Screen Geeks in Lufkin, so I already have some business experience for when I graduate. I am online fairly often at both work and home so this class has been fairly basic but enjoyable for me. When I have any spare time at all, I like to be lazy and watch a good TV show, read a book, go on a hike, or bake. I also like to spend time on the Internet. Sometimes, a relaxing evening to me just consists of me, my boyfriend, his laptop, and my Kindle Fire.
Some of my favorite websites to visit while online include Reddit, which is a very large, community based website where people submit interesting stories, funny pictures and videos, and ask serious questions. I also will admit to spending an above average amount of time on Facebook, which everyone should know as the famous social networking site that brings people together. Another one of my favorite websites is actually my business's website, Screen Geeks, because well, it's mine! Not to mention, I'm quite proud and it makes me happy to see.
